After several years of inactivity, we're proud to announce that Rensselaer County ARES/RACES is back in action!
On April 26, 2000 it was decided to form the "NEW" Rensselaer County ARES/RACES Radio Club. Not only will this keep ARES & RACES under one "roof top" but it will help in the long run to keep stability for both groups. At their May meeting all the paperwork had been completed for the "Constitution & By Laws" for this new organization and by the end of June it was adopted by the membership. It was also determined that the December meeting each year would serve as the annual elections of officers.

The list above are those that were elected by the membership at the December 2009 meeting. These new officers for ARES will hold office until December of 2010. It should be noted that RACES Officers are appointed by Rensselaer County BOES Director - Kelly Paslow. Only the ARES Officers are elected at the annual elections.

Please remember that we're presently holding our ARES/RACES Training Net on Wednesday's at 7:30 PM, on the TARA Repeater System in Troy (145.17/447.075 MHz - N2TY). The use of TARA's repeaters will continue until our new system on 147.18 MHz is installed up at our Grafton site. We're going to need as many of you as possible for these nets and hopefully they'll quickly become a valuable training aid. As for SKYWARN activity--continue to look for this on the Troy 145.17 MHz repeater
